                                                  Religion and Beliefs

During the Qin Dynasty, religion was fairly irrelevant. At that point in time Daoism, and Buddhism hadn't fully developed as respected religions. Which is why the Qin Dynasty had a more philosophy-based belief. If anything, the closest religion that could relate to the Qin Dynasty would probably be Confucianism.
The Qin Dynasty actually embraced a sort of governmental philosophy called Legalism. This religion basically enforced that anything, and everything belonged to the government. This harsh rule divided China into areas, and territories that were governed by certain military commanders. Their strict government did benefit to the standardization of a new language and currency. Unfortunately, Emperor Qin only believed that his beliefs were socially correct. He ridiculed all other belief systems, to secure his power, and make sure that the people of china would only worship him.
Even though Emperor Qin's beliefs were accepted, in the ancient Chinese society. His endeavor to shun all other religions, eventually led to him not being able to control the societies curiosity for other beliefs, which is why he killed so many innocent scholars, who were just trying to teach others about their religions.
